Lateral Viscosity presents a study in balance, tension, and internal structure. Conceived as a formal ensemble document, the work approaches jazz not as a record of performance but as a controlled system of interacting musical forces. Lines, pulses, and harmonic weight are arranged with deliberate restraint so that each gesture exists in proportion to the whole.
The recording was developed through human artistic direction working in dialogue with artificial intelligence functioning strictly as an analytical and generative instrument. Within this framework, artificial intelligence served to examine pattern, proportional relationships, ensemble behavior, and long form structural equilibrium. All aesthetic decisions, historical framing, and final musical judgments remain grounded in human interpretation and curatorial intent.
Rather than presenting a literal studio event, the album stands as a conceptual ensemble construction. It is treated here as a document of form and organization where instrumental voices interact within a designed architecture, producing a continuous field of shifting weight, motion, and density.
