Hands Received presents itself as a single formal argument rather than a collection of pieces. The album is constructed around balance and containment, with each sound occupying a deliberate physical and spatial role. Weight is distributed carefully across the ensemble, allowing tension to arise through proportion rather than volume. Nothing rushes forward. Nothing resolves too easily. Lines overlap, withdraw, and reenter, creating a sense of controlled circulation that mirrors the album’s visual language.
This work is a conceptual ensemble recording created through human artistic direction and artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence functions strictly as a formal analytical and generative instrument, used to examine pattern, proportion, ensemble behavior, and long-form balance. All aesthetic judgment, historical framing, and final structure remain guided by human intent. The result is presented as a historically situated document, concerned with restraint, interaction, and internal logic rather than performance display or documentation of a literal session.
