In Three Hours Before Dawn, The Crazy People construct a nocturnal study in proportion, patience, and structural clarity. Conceived as a unified ensemble document, the work unfolds as a sustained meditation on repetition, distance, and interior time. The project was created through human artistic direction in collaboration with artificial intelligence, used strictly as a formal analytical and generative instrument. Within this framework, artificial intelligence functions as a tool for examining pattern, proportion, ensemble interaction, and long form balance, always subordinate to human judgment, historical awareness, and aesthetic intent.
The recording is presented not as a literal session but as a historically framed document, attentive to lineage and restraint. Lines emerge, recede, and interlock with measured care, privileging collective architecture over individual display. The result is an introspective, solitary work that studies ensemble behavior as a system of internal equilibrium and quiet persistence.
