Interior Lattice Survey presents itself as a closed system rather than a sequence of pieces. The album operates through repetition, compression, and calibrated imbalance, allowing small shifts in density or register to alter the entire internal field. Ensemble roles remain deliberately interdependent, with no instrument assuming a stable foreground for long. Instead, sound accumulates through layered restraint, producing tension by proximity rather than force.
This work is a conceptual ensemble recording shaped through human artistic direction with artificial intelligence employed strictly as a formal analytical and generative instrument. Artificial intelligence is used to examine proportion, internal patterning, ensemble behavior, and long-form balance, always subordinate to human judgment, historical awareness, and aesthetic intent. The result is not a document of performance but an archival construction, framed with early 1960s European jazz sensibilities, where material weight, spatial pressure, and interaction define meaning more than gesture or display.
